WHY READ?
This novel is well written, in the sense that you can really see the dogblood “black bellied gong and poor shou suffering” trope that is common in the 188 series.CHARACTERS: It shows how the mature, filial & tolerant LS, always thinking about what's best & reflects on his mistakes, who clashes somewhat with ZJX, who, as a scum gong, you’d hate him, but he grows on you, seriously. Side characters are also well written & you don't really need to read the other novels to understand their situations (although its better if you do)PLOT: similar to other 188 novels, there's that point where the shou (& you) question whether the gong should be forgiven. There’s a constant battle on beliefs & actions as they're both so different yet their compromise is always worth seeing. They go through a lot (especially LS, with his company & personal relationships) and they need a good and proper talk, but the ending is so sweet and things turn out very well for both of them in the end.some good stuff
